Great Service Opportunities for your Business

Throughout the year you may notice that your employees are lacking in motivation and drive or that their relationships are strained.  Sure company parties and lunches may help to improve these relationships, but there is nothing that can create the same relationships as working together.  By creating service opportunities for your company to participate in you will be able to bond and work together in a way that you never have before.

There are many different types of volunteering that you can do within your community.  Some of the better ways to help build camaraderie involve participating in events that require being away from the workplace.  This is a way to get out of the normal grind and meet the people that you are trying to help and work together to improve your community.

Volunteering at a soup kitchen is one way that you can get involved with your community.  You can help the needy families and individuals within your area to have a hot meal and you can talk with them and get to know them.  When you do this with your employees you will be able to see who they are as individuals and they will be able to see that in each other as well.

You can work with Habitat for Humanity or another local program to help fix up a home or build a new one for a family to live in.  By helping to do this your employees will really have to work together to do something that they have probably never done before.  Not enough can be said for that good that creating does for people’s hearts and for the good it brings out in them.  Creating a home for someone who needs it is so much bigger than most things we can create.

Helping veterans is a great way to unite your team members as well.  There are so many things you can do to help vets as well.  You can set up or participate in a run to raise money for your local vets.  You can contact local veteran charities and volunteer with them through their many different programs.  You can also help to fix up or build a home for an injured vet.  Why not set up a fundraiser of some sort for a local veteran and his family?

There are so many different options for volunteering in your community and bringing your employees together.  You will not be disappointed no matter what you choose to do.  Make it a tradition to help your local community out.  Send out forms asking for ideas from your employees and seeing what they would like to do or if they know of a specific person, family, or group that could be helped.  This is a great way to bring everyone together.
